Blue Male Betta

The fighter fish (betta fish) is a popular species of freshwater aquarium fish. It is originally known as Siamese fighting fish and popular in US as ‘Betta’. This word is derived from Ikan Bettah – a local dialect of Thailand. In Thai, “Plakat Morh” or “Trey Krem” means Fighting Fish. This fish species is the native of Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and parts of China.

Hello, I guess you are newbie regarding fighter fish. So I’m going to provide some links which contain basic information about fighter fish. I suggest you to begin with one fighter fish only. You must get some experience before you are going to keep more than one fighter fish. So buy a Veil Tail Betta fish which is easier to keep if compared other betta species.

Secondly, never ever two bettas together. Basically, fighter fish are very territorial ones. They can fight until one is dead. There are cases where two bettas have been living together but very rare. So it is not wise to take a chance unless you want to see any of them dead.

Finally, fighter fish are from tropical climate. That means they dwell in warm water. So avoid putting them in cold water. I hope this much information is enough for you now. Now check out these below given links.
